COMMENTS CONCERNING MY PURCHASE
Upon close inspection during initial installation I discovered the following discrepancies. Pictures are attached:
– Purge diaphragm support plate (bracket) is bent. Unlikely this was caused during shipping because of the way it was packed.
– Ground wire was not connected.
– Fitting for NG/LPG option is clearly marked and conflicts with arrangement show in the owner’s manual.
– Wheels are clearly inflated tires vice solid wheels. I specifically called and asked whether the wheels were solid or inflated. I was told the wheels are solid….. Not the case. Please send me two solid wheels for this generator.
– Tag on the engine clearly states there is no oil in the engine. I checked and there seemed to be oil in the engine so I proceeded with a test run.

Running great a bit loud. Only complaint is no easy way to change oil without total mess. Send me a pitcock or whatever it’s called I’ll pay for it just don’t look forward to oil change, pain in rear!

I put in a lot of time researching for a quality generator that could: power my whole house, run off of natural gas, and was powered by a Honda engine. Given the nature of a backup generator being needed during power outages, I couldn’t stomach buying a big box store, made in China unit. I wanted something that would be reliable and would last for most of my lifetime with intermittent use. And all of the standby units (save one) were not being built with Honda engines and the overall price of the stand by units by the time it is all said and done would have been a lot of $. I also wanted more granularity with how I could control various circuits, and the stand by setups with the auto transfer switches and additional sub panel seem to restrict the options. Fortunately, I found NY Smart Generators and the SG7000 fit the bill. We installed a valve and quick connect fitting for the natural gas source, a 30A inlet outlet, and a dedicated breaker in the main panel with mechanical interlock. We are currently on day four of an outage, and this unit has been keeping us going around the clock for around 70 hours with continuous use. It is quite loud but is getting the job done. We have a well system with a 1hp pump, a 3hp pump, an engineered septic system with various pumps, full size fridge/freezer unit (with a dedicated compressor for each chamber), another standard fridge/freezer, a large chest freezer, a large upright freezer and a 2,000 sf house. We can run the washing machine, dishwasher, and central heater (not necessarily all at the same time). Aside from not being able to use the clothes dryer, our life has not been interrupted by this extended outage thanks to the mighty little generator. One star removed because of the design which makes oil changes way more difficult and messy than they should be. I still haven’t been able to fix an issue which causes the unit to bog for a second every 5-10 minutes, which cuts power for a second or less but not long enough to reset the router or shut computer off. Overall, given the options out there, I highly recommend this unit.
